Amazon AWS

AWS is a company for driven individuals but there’s almost no standard operating procedure for anything. This is both good and bad. It’s good cause when no one knows anything, then you can become subject matter expert in no time. You can gain trust, visibility and grow in challenges that can feel unsormountable at times - spoiler: they are not 😁. It’s bad because of the associated ambiguity with it. There will be overlapping roles and responsibilities and politics has grown considerably in the past years. Also, learning as a junior is a painful experience as there is no one to tell you how things are really done. People though are extremely talented, money is great and work hours are insane only during peak periods - closing annual planning can mean working easily 18h straight. Overall, I would say the sacrifice pays off.
