We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our product development team and play a key role in building and scaling the backend that drives our platform. You’ll work closely with our Frontend, Product, and Design teams to deliver high-performing, reliable, and secure systems. Beyond coding, you’ll help shape technical direction, optimize processes, bringing a proactive mindset and a passion for building great software.

What you’ll own

• 🚀 Set and contribute to the technical direction, ensuring best practices in architecture, scalability, and performance.
• 🏗️ Design and build robust backend systems using Node.js with TypeScript, following clean and scalable architectural patterns.
• ☁️ Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure, contributing to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, cloud architecture).
• 🔐 Implement and maintain secure systems, including authentication, authorization, and payment integrations.
• 📊 Collaborate with Product to improve backend estimations, technical planning, and roadmap alignment.
• ⚙️ Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend services through testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• 🤝 Work closely with Frontend, Product, and Design to deliver end-to-end features that bring tangible user and business value.

We are seeking a Backend Engineer who is ready to be challenged, contribute to process optimisation, and isn't afraid to question the status quo.

Ideal Profile

You’re a hands-on engineer and technical problem-solver who thrives on building scalable systems that make an impact. You’re comfortable taking ownership, questioning the status quo, and leading by example.

You have:

• 🟨 3-5 years of experience in backend development with Node.js and TypeScript.
• 🏗️ Proven experience designing scalable backend architectures and integrating external APIs.
• ☁️ Strong understanding of AWS services (Cognito, Lambda, S3, EC2, SES, API Gateway).
• 🧩 Experience with Serverless Framework, PostgreSQL, ZOD, and RESTful APIs.
• 💡 Solid grasp of software design principles (DRY, SOLID) and test-driven development.
• 🌀 Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative product delivery.
• ⚡ A proactive, analytical, and outcome-oriented mindset:you take ownership and get things done.
• 📢 Strong communication and organizational skills; able to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
• 🌍 Fluent in Italian and English
• 🧠 Experience in a product-focused setting
• 🎓 Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• 🤖 Experience with AI/ML technologies or projects
• 🚀 Experience in a startup or scale-up environment
