We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Landing Pages Platform team in Rome.
You will be responsible for building and operating Expedia's next-generation AI-ready landing page platform, powering high-traffic landing pages across paid and organic acquisition channels.
You will own the technical direction and delivery of the experience layer, ensuring reliable, performant, and context-aware customer experiences.
Working closely with Product, Marketing, Data, and Platform teams, you will transform search demand and experimentation opportunities into scalable landing experiences.
As a people-first leader, you will grow and support high-performing engineering teams while balancing delivery speed, platform health, and long-term sustainability.
๐ In This Role, You Will
- Lead multiple software engineering teams designing, building, and operating highly available, secure, and performant services
- Drive system design, API design, and data modeling for customer-facing platforms
- Define and execute the long-term technical strategy for your area
- Align engineering decisions with business goals
- Establish engineering quality, reliability, and operational excellence standards
- Ensure best practices across:
- CI/CD
- Monitoring
- Alerting
- Incident response
- Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and managers
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions
- Coordinate multiple workstreams and cross-functional initiatives
- Manage dependencies, risks, and cross-team delivery
๐ค Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Technical degree preferred
- 8+ years of professional experience
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Experience managing engineering teams with end-to-end ownership of services or platforms
- Strong software engineering foundations including:
- Object-oriented or functional programming
- System Design (LLD)
- API Design
- Data Modeling
- Testing Strategies
- CI/CD Pipelines
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, and workflows
- Ability to guide teams in safely adopting AI/ML-enabled solutions
