Senior Platform Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to work on a project in the fashion industry. You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems building and operating shared platform capabilities for application development teams. What you will do: Lead the evaluation and implementation of an API gateway solution for the platform; Consolidate existing pipelines and create a blueprint covering security standards and best practices; Apply and transfer API gateway knowledge across cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP); Contribute to building and operating shared platform capabilities for application development teams. What you will bring: Broad technical background across application development, cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform engineering; Previous experience building or contributing to an Internal Developer Platform, developer portal, or shared cloud platform; Hands-on experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Apache APISIX, Envoy, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, or similar; Good understanding of API security, authentication and authorization, traffic management, rate limiting, resilience, service discovery, and observability; Strong software engineering skills in Java or Kotlin; Practical experience with cloud platforms, containers, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability; Able to work exploratively with incomplete requirements and translate business or technical objectives into implementable solutions; Experience evaluating technical options, creating prototypes, documenting trade-offs, and presenting recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders; Used to taking end-to-end ownership in agile, cross-functional teams without fully specified tickets; Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; very good English (German is a plus). Nice to have: Hands-on coding experience in Java or Kotlin; Familiarity with cloud functions or serverless services (e.g. AWS Lambda); German language skills.
