Software Engineer, Backend - Core/API & Process Automation

Backend engineer for Camunda 8's event-sourced distributed workflow engine. Build and evolve engine and C8 REST/gRPC/MCP APIs, own well-scoped work end-to-end, design and consume clean APIs, detect and optimize inefficient processing and data-access across RocksDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and Postgres, build observability and participate in support/on-call. Requirements: 2+ years professional backend experience, solid grasp of event-driven systems and event sourcing/distributed systems, REST API design instincts, product thinking, self-direction and clear written communication. Nice-to-haves: workflow automation/BPMN, Elasticsearch/Postgres query patterns, observability, JVM.
